Lacey Coenen received an AA in Music and an AA-T in Psychology from Shasta College in Redding, CA. Ms. Coenen graduated from San Jose State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Teaching.
Ms. Coenen grew up in the small town of Red Bluff, CA and began her musical journey in the third grade when she started to play the fiddle. In the fourth grade, she started playing the clarinet, which is her primary instrument. It was during high school that she decided to study music in college and pursue a career in the music field. In addition to music education, Ms. Coenen is very passionate about music therapy and uses this as a core belief in her music education philosophy. She believes that the music classroom provides a unique community that enriches and empowers students’ lives.
Outside of music, Ms. Coenen enjoys a good cup of coffee, baking cookies, and taking walks around the neighborhood. She is excited about teaching music at Scotts Valley Middle and High Schools!
