ACCIDENT, EMERGENCIES & SPECIAL HEALTH NEEDS
Please notify the school promptly of any changes with your address, telephone number, place of employment, doctor, names on your emergency lists, or special health needs. In the event your child becomes ill or needs to contact you having updated information allows us to reach you quickly.
If your child has an accident at school, minimal first aid will be administered and parents will be notified utilizing the information on the student's emergency card online.
It is important to keep this information current and on file in the school office so that we don't have to call 911.
If you need assistance updating the information please come to the school office for help.
Student safety is the concern of everyone.
Hand washing – The #1 way to prevent the spread of germs.
Cover the Cough – Cough in your sleeve or disposable tissue, then repeat #1
Eat healthy, exercise, and get plenty of sleep.
If you’re planning on visiting relatives or friends during the holidays, be aware of potential exposure to illnesses. Please treat accordingly.
If your child is ill (fever of 100.4 degrees or greater, vomiting, diarrhea) please keep them home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications or submit a doctor’s note stating when they can return to school.
Please bring in appropriate documentation of any health or medication changes and update phone numbers in the office during the school year.
*****If your child suddenly becomes ill or injured, we need current parent/emergency contact information to inform of care or treatment options.
Thank you,
Health Services
Just like with other respiratory viruses, your student can return to school once they have improving symptoms and are fever free for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medications).
After symptoms improve and your student has been fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication, they are usually less contagious, but may still spread the virus. It is suggested to use precautions for the next 5 days to minimize risk. For COVID-19, an antigen test can help determine how likely someone is to spread the virus, with a positive result indicating a higher likelihood of spreading it. For your convenience, free at-home COVID test kits are available in every school office.
Please see CDC's "Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When Sick" for more details.
